IRONWILL.LIVE

“embrace the journey… erase the can’t”

Why this website, you may ask?

It’s first about sharing a traumatic experience that rocked our world on August 20th, 2020, in hopes that it will motivate you to be the best YOU, you can be!  Our goal is to let you know that no matter what journey you are on, you are not alone. Our hope is that in sharing our experiences and resources, it will help to inspire you to dig a little deeper. To find that “Ironwill” we all have living deep down inside us.  So, you can “embrace your journey” and “erase the can’t” that may be standing in your way; so you too can live your best Life!

This website is about our journey…the experiences, the struggles, the doubts, the hurdles, the obstacles, the setbacks, the opportunities, the will, the wins, the rewards… all while continuing down this amazing path we call Life, sharing what we have learned… in hopes of supporting and motivation others to embrace the journey and to… “Make This Life, The BEST Life!”

We are all on our own Life journey, all in our different ways… and it’s about just being YOU... but being ALL of YOU… the best version on the YOU, you can be! It’s about starting where we are now and making the best of today… it’s about “creating” the future by living and learning by design, and not by default.

The body will do, what the mind will allow… it’s giving up today what we want now, so we can have tomorrow what we want more. Never underestimate the power of God’s willingness for the drive, desire and determination to take one day, one step at a time to make it happen…

It’s about playing to Win and not just playing not to Lose… it’s about taking that first step, then another, and then another… and focusing just on the current moment.  Every day may not be great, but there is something great in every day... Win the moment, Win the day… EMBRACE THE JOURNEY!

EMBRACE THE JOURNEY…

Embracing The Journey:

  1. Be Persistently Patient: Focus on the small steps, the little day-to-day things; the destination will take care of itself - “Win the Moment, Win the Day”

  2. Be Just A Little Better Than the Day Before: 1% better each day is 100% better in 100-days; 365% better in a year.

  3. Don’t Underestimate The Progress: Don’t ever loose sight of where you came from.

  4. Protect Your Peace: Don’t let anyone or anything take your energy… “How people treat you is there Karma, how you respond is yours”.

  5. Be Grateful: Be Consistent, Be Determined… and at the top of the list, day-in & day-out… Be Grateful!

Win the Moment… Win the Day!

On August 9th, 2020 while out riding my bike, I dropped dead of Cardic Arrest and was dead on the side of the road for 33-minutes.  Amazing Bystanders started CPR and First Responders shocked my heart 3-times before it started beating again. I spend 33-days in the hospital and 7-days in rehad leaning to eat, talk and walk again before returning home.

15-month later on November 13th, 2021, I completed my 26-marathon with my oldest son.  And while on that Saturday morning,  My son & I ran in a circle to end up where we started… yet the journey was so much more.

My wife, my son’s girlfriend and two of our closest friends where there to share the experience with us… and yet there were others who couldn’t physically be there, but were there as we felt them along the way… and those too that reacted and responded 15-months ago on August 9th, and the next 40-days to get us back home, that allowed us to be there to run.

This marathon was just a milestone, a goal, that was set forth many many months ago, to get back to a place we had been before… yet now, a place that will never be the same…

And while we have shared the successes and triumphs along the way over Instagram & Facebook…  what’s not shown is the darkest, the fight, the struggles, the doubts, the setbacks… the things that are life, that make the journey, truly the journey. But what make it all possible… is God’s willingness for the drive, desire and determination and the Village it takes to accomplish it…

If it had not been for my wife, my boys, my parents, and so many other family and friends, old and new… we would not be where we are today. And it’s about all those times, where we didn’t do what we wanted too, but what we had too… to grind, day in and day, just to get to the next day… and then to start again… to work to just be a little better and a little stronger than the day before… and some days weren’t better, but most where… and we just kept going…

Because… if you think you can, or you think you can’t… you’re right!
