Our mission is to share, inspire, motivate, challenge and encourage others to tap into their IRONWILL to LIVE with indomitable determination to make this life, the best life!

How We Got Here…

On Aug 9th, 2020, Stan was out riding his bike, topped a hill and dropped dead from cardiac arrest.

Four bystanders stopped and performed CPR for 11-minutes until EMTs arrived. EMTs spent another 22-minutes on CPR, used all medications in their medical bag and shocked him 3-times before getting his heart started again.

Stan was dead on the side of the road for 33-minutes.

A NOTE FOR YOU…

Welcome to Ironwill.Live

Our “event” on August 9th, 2020 was by far one, if not, the hardest thing our family has ever been through… but having said that too, it has also been one of the most eye-opening and rewarding experiences of our lives… “that which does not kill you, (or kills you for only 33-minutes ; )… makes you stronger!”

DEADMAN TO IRONMAN…

It is hard to put into words the depth on my emotions, thoughts and feeling after crossing the finish line of the Ironman on Saturday, September 17th, 2022.

It has been a grind like no other from August 20, 2020 to get to this point, when my wife, my boys and my family didn’t even know if I would make it out alive, and once alive, not knowing if this would physical and mentally even be possible.

When you die on the side of the road for 33-minutes and are blessed enough to come back from the dead… there is no roadmap, no playbook, no guidelines, of how all this is suppose to playout, and what you are suppose to do, to get back into this game we call Life.

Win the Moment… Win the Day!

15-month later on November 13th, 2021, after dropping dead on August 9th, 2020 of cardiac arrest on the side of the road, I completed marathon #26 with my oldest son.  And while on that Saturday morning,  My son & I ran in a circle to end up where we started… yet the journey was so much more.

My wife, my son’s girlfriend and two of our closest friends where there to share the experience with us… and yet there were others who couldn’t physically be there, but were there as we felt them along the way… and those too that reacted and responded 15-months ago on August 9th, and the next 40-days to get us back home, that allowed us to be there to run.

This marathon was just a milestone, a goal, that was set forth many many months ago, to get back to a place we had been before… yet now, a place that will never be the same…

And while we have shared the successes and triumphs along the way over Instagram & Facebook…  what’s not shown is the darkest, the fight, the struggles, the doubts, the setbacks… the things that are life, that make the journey, truly the journey. But what make it all possible… is God’s willingness for the drive, desire and determination and the Village it takes to accomplish it…

If it had not been for my wife, my boys, my parents, and so many other family and friends, old and new… we would not be where we are today. And it’s about all those times, where we didn’t do what we wanted too, but what we had too… to grind, day in and day, just to get to the next day… and then to start again… to work to just be a little better and a little stronger than the day before… and some days weren’t better, but most where… and we just kept going…

Because… if you think you can, or you think you can’t… you’re right!
